Kala is in early access and free. We will let you know in the app if this policy changes.
What we store
Your Google account (name and email) to sign in. After you consent: period dates, flow, symptoms, mood, energy, private notes, food and workout logs, and conversations with the AI coach.
What for
Estimating your cycle and phase, daily guidance, answering you in the AI coach, and the reminders you turn on. Never for ads, never sold.
Consent
Health data is stored only after a separate consent. You can withdraw it anytime, and your cycle data is deleted right away.
Who can see it
Only you. If you invite a partner, they see only what you choose (phase, next period estimate, today's signal), never your symptoms, mood or notes. You can revoke access anytime.
AI coach
Only the summary needed to answer is sent to the AI model, without your name or email. Conversation content is not kept in cost logs.
Export and delete
You can download all your data and delete your account. A deleted account can be restored for 30 days, then it is removed for good.
Security
Private notes, symptoms you type yourself, and AI coach conversations are encrypted before storage. Partner invite codes are stored only as a hash and expire in 24 hours. Every time a partner opens your summary, it is recorded in an access log you can see.
How to delete
Settings → Account and data: download your data (JSON or CSV), withdraw consent (cycle data deleted immediately), or delete your account (disabled at once, removed for good after 30 days; sign in again within 30 days to cancel).
Not a medical device
Kala is not a medical device and not a contraception method. For health concerns, talk to a doctor or midwife.
